Automobile manufacturers know they need to innovate and design comparable electric vehicles to ICE engine-powered models, ensuring they are also affordable to attract a high number of sales in the global market. Volkswagen aims to fill this gap by introducing lower end electric car models, the VW ID.2 and ID.1 EVs. The Volkswagen ID.2all concept EV has previewed the former and is expected to cost below $26,700. In contrast, the Volkswagen ID.1 is expected to have a starting price of $21,300 when it becomes available for mass production.
The brand has introduced the ID.Every1 concept to replace e-up! In the future. The newly unveiled concept EV is comparatively bigger than the diminutive electric hatchback and measures 3880 mm in length, 1490 mm in height, and 1816 mm in width, slightly lower and narrower than the ID.2 concept.
Since its concept version, the final launch possibly includes front and rear wipers, updated mirrors, and parking sensors, among other tech features. Even though it falls in the compact car category, the automaker has provided 19-inch wheels that enhance the exterior design and add to greater performance. This EV concept is expected to maintain a high level of comfort, better range, and a sportier look for a premium vibe.
Talking about the interior of the upcoming Volkswagen ID.Every1 concept is much more likely to maintain the look and feel found in gas-fueled Polo superminis. It would comfortably accommodate four people inside, while the luggage space is expected to boast 305 liters of space. VW has also announced that ID.1 will feature new software architecture and is expected to come with several subscription packages to unlock several features available in EV’s interior and tech features.
The concept EV can get a dedicated, comparatively compact instrument cluster and two-spoke steering wheels. The brand also offers removable Bluetooth speakers and a well-engineered center console.
ID.1 is reported to have a front-wheel drive MEB platform and would feature a single motor at the front generating 94 horsepower with a top speed of 130 km/h. Although the battery pack details are unavailable, Volkswagen has promised to deliver a driving range of 250 km on a single charge. The Volkswagen ID.2 concept will be unveiled globally next year, while the ID.1 will be unveiled by 2027.
