Volkswagen revealed a teaser for its upcoming compact SUV, which will be the smallest in its global lineup. Positioned below the T-Cross/Taigun, it’s expected to launch in 2025 and be called the ‘Volkswagen Yeh.’ The SUV will first be available in Brazil.
The Volkswagen A0 SUV, based on the Skoda Kylaq, will use the MQB-A0 platform, similar to the T-Cross, Polo, and Nivus. Volkswagen's Virtus and Taigun, along with Skoda's Slavia and Kushaq, also use a modified version of this platform. The upcoming Skoda Kylaq will share the same base.
The new Volkswagen A0 compact SUV will have a wheelbase of about 2.5 meters and a length of around 4 meters. While its name hasn't been officially confirmed, it's suggested to be a five-letter name. It will feature Volkswagen's global design, with a taller bumper, connected tail lights, a slim front grille, and a coupe-like roofline, as seen in the teaser.
Volkswagen hasn't shared engine details yet, but the new model is likely to have a 1.0-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder petrol engine, similar to the Volkswagen Tiguan, Skoda Kushaq, Virtus, and Slavia. It will offer both manual and automatic transmission options.
