Toyota is ready to unveil a unique concept at the 2024 SEMA Show, the Land Cruiser Rox, based on the Land Cruiser 250. This concept features a convertible roof for an open-air driving experience, and it also includes a small pickup bed for added versatility.

The Land Cruiser Rox combines a custom, stylish design with strong off-road ability, making it one of the top choices in Toyota's lineup. Based on the Land Cruiser 250, the Rox concept features over 50% new design elements.

Created by Toyota's CALTY design studio, the "ROX" name stands for Recreation Open Experience. CALTY, founded in 1973, plays a key role in Toyota's global design strategy.
The Land Cruiser Rox concept features custom "skeleton" doors, a shortened D-pillar, and high-clearance rocker panels for a pickup-style appearance. The roof is replaced with a sliding soft top. It also has a triple-bar custom roof rack, steel bumpers, and a sports bar with molle panels for extra protection and utility.

The rugged design includes large tires, widened fenders, and 18-inch machined billet wheels, along with added reinforcements for enhanced off-road strength and stability.
The Land Cruiser Rox concept keeps the 2.4-liter petrol engine with a hybrid system but adds TRD custom suspension, wider tracks with forged aluminum control arms, and a 4-inch lift kit. Inside, it features Heritage Orange leather and custom 3D-printed components for improved weather resistance. The door panels include webbing and built-in safety kits for extra storage.

Toyota has not confirmed if the Land Cruiser Rox concept will be produced, but its popularity suggests it could become a convertible pickup based on the Prado.
