Toyota has officially revealed that its global production has increased for the second consecutive month in February, led by higher output and strong sales in Japan after recovering from a certification scandal in its domestic market last year.

The global production for this Japanese automaker rose by 6% to 779,790 units on YoY, with the domestic production at 16% and up to 1% in other countries.

Toyota’s production in North America decreased by 1%, while the car shipment from Japan to the US declined by 1%. The automaker reported a 6% growth in its global revenue for February, backed by a 28% rise in domestic and 2% in global sales.

On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump announced a 25% tariff on imported cars and light trucks that will come into effect on April 3.

Trump’s trade policies have shaken the global automotive industry; while the global automobile manufacturers are concerned about their market and supply chains, investors are figuring out how to deal with the recent uncertainty.

In North America, Toyota’s sales dropped by 7% due to fewer operating days and inventory shortage for its flagship hybrid models and other vehicles in demand. In February 2025, Toyota continued witnessing strong demand for its vehicles in North America.

In the UAE, Toyota reported a 12% YoY increase, with 28414 units sold in February, up from 25,220 units in February 2024. Toyota has several flagship models in the UAE market, including the Camry Hybrid, Corolla Cross, Camry, Urban Cruiser, Fortuner, and Land Cruiser.
