Premium materials, including vegan suede, and a more refined look.
Larger 15.4-inch touchscreen, rear passenger 8-inch screen, and additional screen-based controls.
Aerodynamic tweaks reduce drag coefficient to 0.22, enhancing range and performance.
Tesla has unveiled the highly anticipated 2025 Model Y, codenamed "Juniper," in China. The refresh brings notable updates to the world’s best-selling car.

The Model Y Juniper maintains its signature silhouette but features a sleeker, more dynamic front design. A standout addition is the bold LED light bar spanning the front, inspired by the Cybertruck, adding a futuristic edge.
At the rear, a full-width light bar complements the design, with "TESLA" prominently displayed in block letters.

The Model Y’s interior has been revamped to align more closely with the updated Model 3. It now features enhanced materials, including black vegan suede, adding a premium and luxurious feel.
The 15.4-inch center touchscreen has received minor upgrades, and an added 8-inch rear passenger screen enhances convenience. Meanwhile, the gear selector has moved to the touchscreen, further centralizing Tesla's screen-based controls—offering a blend of practicality and innovation.

Tesla has provided limited details on powertrain updates for the Model Y Juniper but claims improved efficiency thanks to aerodynamic refinements and other adjustments. The drag coefficient has been reduced from 0.23 to 0.22, enhancing range. Acceleration has also improved, with the Long Range model now achieving 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds, down from 5.0 seconds.

The Model Y utilizes a monocoque chassis engineered to optimize crash energy absorption. Its advanced driver assistance features include a forward-facing Autopilot camera and blind spot indicators seamlessly integrated into the side mirrors, enhancing its autonomous driving capabilities.
The interior features an OTA-enabled touchscreen that displays animations for lane changes during autonomous driving. The vehicle includes a Standard Autopilot system, with optional upgrades to Enhanced or Full Self-Driving packages.
The Model Y Juniper starts at 263,500 renminbi in China (approximately $35,900), reflecting a 5.4% price increase over the previous model. Deliveries in China are set for March, with a U.S. launch scheduled for spring 2025. Additional regional rollout details will follow.
The 2025 Model Y Juniper introduces significant updates, enhancing both design and performance, while retaining its status as a top contender in the global EV market. With improved efficiency, cutting-edge features, and a refined interior, Tesla continues to push the boundaries of electric vehicle innovation. The refreshed Model Y promises to maintain its dominance in the market, offering both style and performance at a competitive price point.
