Skoda's first-ever compact SUV is named "Kylaq."
The Kylaq is expected to launch in early 2025.
The name was chosen through a public contest, with "Kylaq" being derived from the Sanskrit word for crystal.
Based on the MQB-A0-IN platform, it shares design elements with the Kushaq but has shorter rear doors and distinct fender shapes.
Features a 10.25-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus amenities like wireless charging and a sunroof in higher trims.
Skoda has named its first compact SUV "Kylaq," set to debut in early 2025. The name was selected through a public contest, requiring it to start with 'K', end with 'Q', and have two syllables.

Out of over 200,000 entries, 'Kylaq' was selected as the winning name, derived from the Sanskrit word for crystal. The contest winner will receive the Skoda Kylaq when it launches. Ten additional winners will enjoy a trip to Skoda Auto in Prague, including a city tour and a visit to the Skoda Museum. The winners will be announced on Skoda Auto India's social media channels.

Although Skoda hasn’t fully shown the Kylaq’s design, spy photos and previews indicate it will keep some of the Kushaq’s features like alloy wheels, front styling, and taillights. The Kylaq is built on the MQB-A0-IN platform and has front doors similar to the Kushaq, but its rear doors are shorter. It also features unique fender shapes and higher ground clearance.
The Kylaq’s interior is nicely equipped, featuring the same 10.25-inch infotainment system as the Kushaq, with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The higher trims offer extras like wireless charging, automatic climate control, a sunroof, and ventilated seats.

The Kylaq will be equipped with the same 3-cylinder 1.0-liter TSI petrol engine found in the Slavia and Kushaq, delivering around 114 bhp and 178 Nm of torque. It will come with transmission options of either a 6-speed torque converter automatic or a 6-speed manual.
The Skoda Kylaq, Skoda's first compact SUV, is set to debut in early 2025. Drawing design cues from the Kushaq and built on the MQB-A0-IN platform, it promises to blend familiar elements with new features. With a well-appointed interior, advanced infotainment, and a reliable 1.0-liter TSI engine, the Kylaq is poised to be a strong contender in the compact SUV market.
