Porsche's third-generation Panamera is gearing up to be launched on November 24 this year at the Icons of Porsche Festival in Dubai. The Porsche sports car is currently undergoing a final test drive in Barcelona, Spain, a few months ahead of its grand debut in Dubai, where attendees will be able to see this next-generation Panamera for the first time between November 25 and 26.
Previously, the new Panamera was tested in the US, where Porsche evaluated the powertrain performance at high altitudes and low-oxygen levels, along with the performance of engine-cooling technology and air-conditioning at extreme heat. The car was also driven in extremely low temperatures in Scandinavia, in South Africa, on difficult road conditions, while in Asia, in high air humidity levels.
On Thursday, the development manager, Marcel Hönemann, said that the company tests every new car intensively to meet the demands and, of course, of worldwide customers. He further added that the new Panamera must excel here and now in terms of performance, comfort, and acoustics.
The new Porsche Panamera is now expected to be offered in four e-hybrid engine options, where each powertrain will be upgraded and distinct. The head of the Panamera product line, Dr. Thomas Friemuth, stated that after already providing three e-hybrid models in the second-generation Panamera, the company will add a fourth plug-in-hybrid variant in the coming generation. The new variant is the company's response to customer demand. The e-hybrid trims of Panamera have almost 100% share in some of the countries. The new and high-performance derivative would strongly fit this versatile line-up.
He further added that Porsche is continuously increasing the electric-powered performance of the Panamera in all the e-hybrid variants available for sale. During the road tests, the company drove it up to 70% only on electric power like in previous versions.
Along with an updated powertrain, the new Porsche Panamera features a high-end chassis with active damper control (as an option) and a number of additional functionalities to amplify the performance. The upcoming Porsche sports car, Panamera, contains a semi-active chassis with new two-valve shock absorbers, which come as standard and add to the solid performance of the vehicle.
The final finishing touches will be done before its official launch and grand debut in Dubai.
