Porsche has recently rolled out its one millionth Macan from production earlier this week. The Germany-based luxury car manufacturer achieved this milestone 12 years after the compact SUV first entered production in late 2013. In comparison, the Porsche 911 took about 54 years of continuous production to hit the same milestone, production starting from 1964.

Porsche Macan is currently built in the Leipzig plant in Germany and has been the best-selling Porsche car since its debut in the global market. Also, the Macan SUV is the fastest Porsche to hit the one million units production mark, with the Cayenne SUV taking 18 years to hit the same number of production.
It positions itself as a premium luxury car manufacturer and produces models in very limited numbers to maintain a high level of quality standards. In the brand’s 75 years of production history, Macan is the third model to reach the one million units production milestone. On the other hand, competitors like Toyota and Volkswagen sold nearly 10 million cars globally in the previous year.
Porsche Macan is available in both ICE and EV options. However, the German brand is aiming to discontinue the ICE-powered Macan in the global market soon. In the UAE, Porsche Macan ICE is currently priced at AED 271,500 to AED 366,900. In comparison, the Porsche Macan Electric is available with a price range of AED 308,100 to AED 419,800.
The entry-level variant of the Porsche Macan ICE comes equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four petrol engine and a 7-speed PDK transmission powering all four wheels. The powertrain system produces 265 PS of power output and 400 Nm of torque, accelerating it from 0-100 km/h in 6.2 seconds and hitting a top speed of 232 km/h. For more performance-focused buyers, Porsche has offered the Macan S and Macan GTS that deliver 259 km/h and 272 km/h of top speed, respectively.
Porsche Macan EV is available in four variants: Macan Electric, Macan 4 Electric, Macan 4S Electric, and Macan Turbo Electric. Depending upon the variant, the Macan EV hits 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds to 3.1 seconds and top speed of up to 260 km/h.
