Only a few cars match the level of the Pagani Zonda, and few Zondas stand out like the Tricolore variants. Pagini built only three Zonda Tricolores, and one arrived for auction. The buyers need a deep pocket to win the bidding and more budget to make this special car even more special.
One of Pagani Tricolore is currently being auctioned through RM Sotheby's in a sealed auction, showcasing the details of the bid process are unavailable.
In the lineup of Zonda, the Tricolores were all the same, combining a mix of carbon and blue with stripes matching similarities with the Italian flag. The finish features an ode to Frecce Tricolori, the demonstration team for the Italian Air Force, and was used to celebrate the team's 50th anniversary.
The Tricolores were introduced later in the Zonda series and based on Zonda Cinque. It draws power from a big 7.3-liter Mercedes AMG V12 engine, producing 670 horsepower and featuring iconic center exit exhaust from Zonda. The Tricolore has a six-speed automated manual transmission with cog swaps to replace their own or through carbon fiber paddles.
Though the car is already unique, feature-rich, and offers impressive power and performance, the new owner can request that Pagani convert the automated transmission setup to a true six-speed stick-and-clutch manual transmission. Interestingly, it's not the after-market conversion but the option made available by Pagani itself. Though the conversion might be expensive, you can also afford the swap if you can buy the Pagani Zonda Tricolore.
With the extremely low-production units, only three were built, and one is available at auction; late-model Zonda have the potential to be auctioned for a big amount. Carscoops reminded the Zonda audience that the Zonda LM Roadster was sold out at $11 million last November.
Biddings will end in the next two days; if you are interested, go and check more details about this supercar.
