Apple has given a preview of its updated CarPlay system at WWDC 2024. The event included select coding sessions, allowing automakers to integrate vehicle functions into the software, aiming for a fully cohesive in-car experience.

The familiar CarPlay home screen will now include temperature shortcuts and climate control buttons for added convenience. EV drivers will receive pop-up notifications for charge status, along with integration for park assist features and rear-facing cameras.
Aston Martin and Porsche will be the first to introduce the updated CarPlay in their upcoming models. Currently, CarPlay is compatible with over 800 car models worldwide.
