Kia has launched its first-ever pickup truck, the Tasman, in the UAE. This Kia pickup is available in five trims and is priced from AED 118,290. The Korean automaker has commenced booking the new Tasman on its official website, with expected deliveries to start soon.
Kia Tasman has nine exterior color options, which vary depending on the customer's chosen variant. These exterior color options include Clear White, Snow White Pearl, Aurora Black Pearl, Interstellar Grey, Cityspace Green, Runaway Red, Steel Gray, Tan Beige, and Denim Blue.
Kia's newly launched pickup truck gets two powertrain options: a 2.5-liter turbo petrol inline-4 and a 2.2-liter turbo diesel inline-4 engine. The turbo petrol engine churns out 281 horsepower and 421 Nm of torque, accelerating 0-100 km/h in 8.5 seconds and delivering a top speed of 185 km/h. In contrast, the turbo diesel engine delivers 210 horsepower and 441 Nm of torque. The diesel engine-powered Kia Tasman sprints 0-100 km/h in 10.4 seconds with a top speed of 185 km/h. Both engine options have an 8-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission and a 4WD system.
The Tasman is a capable on-road and adventure vehicle with a bold, rugged design. The front profile features a wide grille and sharp LED headlights. The boxy, solid design profile with clean lines and squared wheel arches offers further touch and practical style. The pickup also has high ground clearance, matching tail lights, and a properly designed bed for luggage.
The cabin has ample space, especially in the double cab version, offering passengers enough head and leg room. The seats are also comfortable and well-shaped, making them comfortable for long drives. On the tech front, the Kia has equipped its Tasman with a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, 12.3-inch infotainment, 5-inch climate control screen, wireless phone charger pad, folding console table, powered seats, rear reclining seats, and Harman Kardon premium audio system. Kia has also offered a 360-degree camera, level 2 ADAS, and tire pressure monitoring for safety features.
With the launch of Kia Tasman, the Korean automobile manufacturer aims to compete with Toyota Hilux, Mitsubishi L200, Riddara RD6, BYD Shark, MG T60, GWM Poer, Isuzu D-Max, and Nissan Navara.
