Key Highlights:

  • First Arabic-Named Mainstream Model → A first in the Middle Eastern automotive market for a major brand like MG, emphasizing localization beyond special editions.
  • True 4x4 Capability → Built on a robust ladder-frame chassis (shared with global models like Maxus D90 / LDV D90), engineered for desert dunes, rugged trails, and daily urban use.
  • Positioning → Sits as a premium, adventure-ready flagship, rivaling models like the Toyota Fortuner in the region.

MG Motor Middle East has launched the all-new MG RAKAN, marking a major milestone for the brand in the region. Unveiled in late January 2026 (with initial rollout starting in markets like Kuwait), the RAKAN is MG's first production model to carry an official Arabic name and its first fully dedicated, capable 4x4 SUV.

The name "RAKAN" draws from the Arabic word Rukn (meaning pillar, foundation, strength, or resilience), symbolizing durability and cultural connection. This isn't a limited-edition badge it's a permanent addition to MG's Middle East lineup, reflecting the brand's strategy to blend global engineering with strong regional identity.
