Mercedes-Benz Unveils Vision Iconic Concept: A Fusion of Classic Design and Modern Technology

In terms of exterior design, the Vision Iconic Concept gets an upright radiator grille found in the 1956 300Sc. However, the grille has been enhanced with illuminated elements. The sloping roofline and long bonnet have been derived from the Mercedes 300 SL.

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the Vision Iconic Concept at the luxury car brand’s design house in Shanghai, China. The German automaker claims that the golden era of automotive design of the 1930s inspires the Mercedes-Benz Vision Iconic Concept. It underlines the pure essence of Mercedes-Benz, while also retaining design inspiration from older cars with advanced tech integration.

In terms of exterior design, the Vision Iconic Concept gets an upright radiator grille found in the 1956 300Sc. However, the grille has been enhanced with illuminated elements. The sloping roofline and long bonnet have been derived from the Mercedes 300 SL. Mercedes-Benz continues to provide its iconic logo on the nose, and the illuminated star motif on the headlight adds to its premium and modern appeal.

Inside the cabin, the Mercedes-Benz Vision Iconic Concept features a retro theme with refreshed and new elements to balance with modern car interior and practicality. The concept also features a floating glass dashboard centerpiece structure named Zeppelin. There are analog parts with digital displays. The interior houses a continuous bench seat and an elegant rear that reminds one of the legendary 300 SL. It has a 4-spoke steering wheel with the Mercedes logo inside a glass sphere.

Mercedes-Benz has also equipped its brand new concept with a host of features like steer-by-wire technology, which helps in quicker maneuvering and precise control. Additional features offered in this prototype version are Level 2 ADAS, and we are also working on Level 4 Autonomous driving.
