Lamborghini unveils the Urus SE, a powerful plug-in hybrid SUV.
It combines a 4.0-liter V8 engine with an electric motor for a total of 789 horsepower.
The SUV offers 37 miles of electric range and various driving modes for versatility.
It features a redesigned front end and improved aerodynamics for better stability.
Inside, there's a new dashboard and a larger touchscreen with updated features.
Chief Technical Officer Rouven Mohr highlights the Urus SE's performance and comfort.
The Urus holds a unique position in Lamborghini's lineup. Despite differing opinions among enthusiasts, it remains the brand's top-selling model. Now, with the automotive industry embracing electrification, Lamborghini has upgraded its popular SUV.

Meet the Urus SE, an audacious SUV featuring a plug-in hybrid V8 engine. Sharing its powertrain with the Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid, it boasts a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 generating 612 horsepower. With an additional 189hp from the electric motor, the Urus SE delivers a total of 789 horsepower and 950 Nm of torque. Accelerating from 0-100kph in 3.2 seconds and reaching a top speed of 312 kph, it offers performance akin to a supercar!

While the Urus SE surpasses the S model in performance across the board, the Performance variant still holds the title as the fastest Urus. Equipped with a 25.7-kWh lithium-ion battery, the Urus SE offers an electric range of 37 miles and can operate in pure EV mode. In addition to the existing driving modes like Strada, Sport, and Corsa for road and track, it introduces Neve, Sabbia, and Terra modes. The center console's "Tamburo" selector now includes EV Drive, Hybrid, Performance, and Recharge modes.
Beyond the powertrain enhancements, the Urus SE receives cosmetic updates. A redesigned front bumper and grille, along with matrix LED technology in the headlight clusters, give it a fresh look. The new light signature draws inspiration from the tail of Lamborghini's emblematic bull.

The rear end of the Urus SE takes inspiration from the Lamborghini Gallardo, offering a more unified design. The "Y" taillights seamlessly integrate into a new rear diffuser, enhancing both aesthetics and aerodynamics. This redesign, along with a new spoiler, boosts rear downforce by 35% at high speeds compared to the Urus S, ensuring greater stability during aggressive driving maneuvers.
Moreover, aerodynamic improvements extend throughout the vehicle. Enhanced under-body air vents and revised air ducts increase airflow for engine and mechanical cooling by 15% compared to the original Urus. Front-end optimizations result in a 30% improvement in airflow directed towards the braking system. These enhancements ensure peak performance and component longevity across diverse driving conditions, from city streets to track sessions.

Upon entering the cabin, you'll notice a redesigned dashboard that emphasizes driver engagement. Lightweight materials, reminiscent of the Revuelto, enhance the feeling of agility and sportiness.
At the heart of the cabin, a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen commands attention, boasting an updated Human Machine Interface (HMI) for seamless control. The interface graphics seamlessly integrate with the Revuelto-inspired design language, ensuring a cohesive user experience. Lamborghini Centro Stile has meticulously designed additional interior elements, including the Y-shaped anodized aluminum trim, new upholstery choices for panels and seats, and a mechanical pushbutton panel for enhanced tactile feedback with the vehicle.

The focus on the pilot's experience continues with the digital displays. Both the 12.3-inch instrument cluster and the touchscreen seamlessly integrate, providing a cohesive user interface. The Lamborghini Infotainment System (LIS) receives enhancements, including a dedicated telemetry system for the SE variant and improved displays for the driving assistance system, enhancing overall situational awareness for the driver.
Chief Technical Officer Rouven Mohr emphasized the project's core objective: to deliver cutting-edge performance while staying true to Lamborghini's uncompromising character. Positioned as a leader in its class, the Urus SE excels in driving enjoyment and dynamics, seamlessly blending comfort with exhilarating performance for a unique driving experience.
Lamborghini Urus SE represents a bold step forward in the realm of luxury SUVs. With its potent plug-in hybrid powertrain, enhanced performance, aerodynamic improvements, and refined interior, it sets a new benchmark for driving dynamics and comfort. This model showcases Lamborghini's commitment to innovation and delivering exhilarating experiences on the road.
