Kia has officially revealed its upcoming electric car, EV4, before its global debut. Kia will officially make the global debut of its upcoming EV4 on Kia EV Day on February 27. The renowned Korean automobile manufacturer previously teased EV4 in concept versions and another two upcoming Kia EVs - EV2 and PV5 concepts.
The automaker is likely to commence the production of the Kia EV4 by the end of this year and make this electric car available for sale by 2026. The upcoming EV from Kia will compete with the Tesla Model 3, MG 4, and Volkswagen ID.4.
Kia EV4 was showcased in the concept version for the first time in 2023. The latest iteration comprises similar design elements to its previously showcased concept version. According to industry reports, the Kia EV4 will be offered in two body styles, hatchback and sedan. Though the features will remain similar, the EV4 hatchback will carry a slightly smaller size.
EV4 will be offered in both hatchback and sedan body styles, where the hatchback variant will pack a slightly shorter length along with some design changes. Kia has unveiled its new design philosophy that merges innovation with advanced technology, which has already been evident in previously launched electric vehicles like the Kia EV9.
Like other upcoming Kia EVs, EV4 will also get a signature 'Tiger Face' design in the front, further enhanced with vertically positioned headlights and sleek DRLs. The EV features a sporty look and a wide stance, sloping roofline that goes down at the rear with a long-tail-like design. It also has a two-piece rear spoiler, vertical LED tail lights, and 19-inch premium alloy wheels. A Kia EV4 GT-Line variant also features wing-shaped front and rear bumpers and triangular-motif 19-inch wheels for a sportier look.
Though the technical and interior details are not publicly revealed yet, the upcoming EV4 will build on E-GMP architecture used in the Kia EV9, EV6, and Hyundai Ioniq 5. It's anticipated that the Korean automobile manufacturer can offer this upcoming Kia EV with 58.3kWh and 81.4kWh battery options, supporting both FWD and AWD.
