Kia has unveiled the EV3 electric SUV, which sits below the EV5 and EV9. It will debut in South Korea next month and arrive in Europe by late 2024.

Initially showcased as a concept last year, the Kia EV3 is constructed on the Hyundai Group's E-GMP platform, which it shares with models like the EV5, EV9, and EV6. The EV3 will come in two variants: Standard and GT Line.
The EV3 takes inspiration from Kia's "Opposites United" design philosophy and shares aesthetic elements with the flagship EV9. It features an angular front with a sealed 'Tiger Nose' grille, complemented by the 'star map' LED lighting pattern and L-shaped LED DRLs. The front bumper blends seamlessly with the overall front design, creating a cohesive look.

The EV3 measures 4,300 mm in length, 1,560 mm in height, and 1,850 mm in width, with a spacious 2,680 mm wheelbase, making it similar in size to the Seltos. The electric SUV offers a boot capacity of about 460 liters, complemented by a 25-liter frunk for added storage versatility.
The EV3's interior features a minimalist design with a large 30-inch screen that includes dual 12.3-inch displays for the digital cluster and infotainment, as well as a 5-inch climate control display. Additionally, it offers practical storage options, including a sliding table under the center console.
The EV3 also boasts configurable ambient lighting, sustainable upholstery materials, a personal AI voice assistant, a Harman Kardon sound system, an optional 12-inch head-up display, and an ADAS suite. Significantly, it is the first Kia EV to feature a personal AI assistant.

Interior color options include Warm Grey, Subtle Grey, and Blue finishes, with the GT trim available in Onyx Black.
The standard EV3 offers two battery pack options: 81.4kWh and 58.3kWh. The larger pack delivers a peak range of around 600 km (WLTP). Both batteries can charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 31 minutes, with the 81.4kWh pack supporting up to 102 kW fast charging and the 58.3kWh pack up to 128 kW. Both variants share the same motor, generating approximately 201 bhp and 283 Nm of peak torque.

The EV3 is equipped with a front-wheel-drive system, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds and reaching a top speed of 180 km/h. It includes i-Pedal version 3.0 for one-pedal driving and supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) charging. Overall, the Kia EV3 highlights the brand's dedication to innovation and sustainability.
Kia EV3, built on the Hyundai Group's E-GMP platform, embodies the brand's commitment to innovation and sustainability. With its sleek design, advanced features, and impressive performance, the EV3 is set to make a significant impact in the electric SUV market. Its launch in South Korea and Europe marks another step forward in Kia's electrification strategy, offering consumers a versatile and eco-friendly vehicle option.
