Kia unveils a new sedan, set to replace the Forte, offering enhanced features and an updated design.
The K4 boasts larger dimensions compared to the Forte, providing more legroom for rear passengers while slightly reducing trunk space.
The K4 introduces a new powertrain configuration, including a torque-converter eight-speed automatic transmission and a revised engine lineup.
Available in multiple trim levels, including the GT-Line, the K4 offers a range of amenities such as advanced infotainment systems, driver-assistance technologies, and optional luxury features.
The newest member of Kia's vehicle range, the K4 sedan, is engineered to deliver an exceptional driving journey. It merges cutting-edge technology, supreme comfort, and exceptional performance with an elegant design.

Kia has unveiled initial images of the distinctive 2025 K4 compact sedan, poised to succeed the Forte. The brand is now sharing more information about the K4, highlighting its larger dimensions, enhanced features, and familiar engine choices. The car is anticipated to hit U.S. dealerships later this year and will come in five trim levels: LX, LXS, EX, GT-Line, and GT-Line Turbo.

In the lower trims of the Forte, the powertrain remains consistent with a 147-horsepower 2.0-liter inline-four engine paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission. The K4's GT-Line Turbo model features a slightly modified version of the turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four engine from the previous Forte GT, delivering 190 horsepower, representing a reduction of 11 horsepower.
Similarly to the powertrain update observed in the 2024 Seltos crossover, the sedan replaces the previous six-speed manual and seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmissions with a conventional torque-converter eight-speed automatic.
As per Kia's specifications, the K4 has undergone size expansion, now measuring 185.4 inches in length and 72.8 inches in width. This represents a growth of nearly three inches in length and two inches in width compared to its predecessor, the Forte. While this translates to increased legroom for rear passengers, the trunk size has slightly diminished.

The images depict the U.S.-spec model of the GT-Line trim, showcasing 18-inch wheels and sporty design features. Like the Forte, the K4 presents a torsion-beam rear suspension for base models and a multilink rear suspension for the GT. However, Kia has decided to allocate the more advanced suspension configuration exclusively for the K4's GT-Line variants.

In the upper trims, the interior showcases extensive screen integration, comprising a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a 12.3-inch central infotainment touchscreen, and a smaller 5.0-inch screen for climate control. The base model offers standard wireless smartphone mirroring, while optional amenities such as heated and ventilated front seats, a Harman Kardon audio system, a digital key for smartphone-based car unlocking, and various driver-assistance features are also accessible.
Kia has announced that the K4 will be released for sale in the United States in the latter part of this year. It is expected that the starting price of the K4 will be slightly above that of the Forte, which begins at $21,145.
Kia's unveiling of the 2025 K4 sedan marks an exciting addition to its lineup, poised to succeed the Forte. The K4 promises enhanced features, increased size, and a refined driving experience. With a variety of trim levels and optional amenities, including advanced technology and driver-assistance features, the K4 aims to cater to a wide range of preferences and needs.
Anticipated to hit U.S. dealerships in the latter half of the year, the K4 is expected to offer a compelling value proposition, albeit at a slightly higher starting price than its predecessor. Overall, Kia's introduction of the K4 signifies a continued commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction in the competitive sedan market.
