Introduction of Omoda C5 SUV in the UAE.
Focus on sporty design and affordability.
Planned launch of electric variant alongside petrol models.
Expected offering of multiple trim levels.
Wide range of color options available.
Stylish exterior with diamond-inspired grille and coupe-like design.
Omoda, a Chinese automaker, has made its debut in the UAE with its inaugural model, the C5 SUV, following its debut at the GIMS Qatar auto show.
Omoda, a member of the Chery International automotive group, is focused on delivering sporty and budget-friendly SUVs equipped with advanced technology and performance features. In addition to traditional gasoline models, Omoda plans to introduce its electric SUV, the C5 EV (also known as the E5), in the UAE.
Upon its release in the UAE, the Omoda C5 is anticipated to be available in at least five different trim levels. This aligns with the model's availability in South Africa, where it is currently offered in five trim variants. We anticipate a similar range of options for buyers in the UAE.

In the UAE, Omoda may provide a selection of up to 8 solid colors and 3 dual-tone color options for the C5 model.
A Diamond inspires the front grille of the Omoda C5. The studded design adds a premium touch to this sporty compact SUV.
The blacked-out rear pillar creates a wrap-around effect, while the steeply-raked windscreen gives the C5 a coupe-like appearance and contributes to the sporty design of the SUV with a floating roof effect.
Compact SUV
The Omoda C5 offers generous interior space for five occupants with its wheelbase of 2,630mm, along with a boot capacity of 378 liters.

The dashboard of the new Omoda C5 incorporates dual 10.25-inch screens for both the infotainment system and the instrument cluster. The infotainment system offers onboard navigation, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay support, along with connected features, all powered by the brand's 4.0 Human Machine Interface (HMI).
The new C5 comes equipped with a Level 2+ ADAS safety system designed to prevent collisions, featuring functions such as forward emergency braking, Blind Spot Warning, and Intelligent Cruise Control, among others.
Omoda will provide the C5 with two turbo-petrol engine choices a 1.5-liter and a 1.6-liter. Here are the specifications for each engine:
| Engine | 1.5-liter | 1.6-liter |
|---|---|---|
| Max Power | 154 hp | 197 hp |
| Peak Torque | 230 Nm | 290 Nm |
| Top Speed | 191 km/h | 206 km/h |
| 0 to 100 km/h | 9.9 seconds | 7 seconds |
| Gearbox | 9-speed CVT | 7-speed DCT |
| Drivetrain | FWD | FWD |
Once available in the UAE, the base model of the Omoda C5 might start at AED 90,000, while the top-tier variant equipped with the 1.6L engine could be priced at around AED 100,000.

Competing in the same segment, the Omoda C5 will go head-to-head with rivals such as the Exeed RX, Haval H6, Toyota RAV4, Nissan X-Trail, and Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max.
The arrival of the Omoda C5 marks an exciting entry into the compact SUV market in the UAE. With its sporty design, advanced technology features, and competitive pricing, it promises to offer a compelling choice for consumers seeking a stylish and capable vehicle in this segment.
