Unmatched Speed and Power

Land Rover Defender Octa

The Defender Octa accelerates from 0-100kph in just 3.8 seconds, which is sports car speed for a large SUV. It has a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V-8 mild-hybrid engine with 626 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Superior Chassis and Suspension

Despite the powerful engine and performance stats, Land Rover has focused on more than just the powertrain for the Defender Octa. The SUV features Land Rover's 6D Dynamics chassis, which reduces body roll, and has an adjusted suspension for excellent off-road capabilities.

Enhanced Dimensions

The Octa is 1.1 inches taller and 2.7 inches wider than the standard model. It has extended, reinforced cross arms and unique active dampers for better performance. With the increased height, the Defender Octa can wade through 3.3 feet of water.

Improved Braking and Steering

The SUV has strong 15.7-inch front brakes with six-piston Brembo calipers for excellent stopping power. It also features the quickest steering ratio ever in a Defender, offering agile and responsive handling.

Luxurious Interior Options

Inside, the Defender Octa features performance seats with Body and Soul Seat audio technology. The standard interior includes Burnt Sienna semi-aniline leather and ebony Kvadrat fabric. Customers can also choose Light Cloud and Lunar or ebony leather interiors. The exclusive Octa Edition One, for the first year of production, offers unique two-tone khaki and ebony seat upholstery.

Stylish Exterior Enhancements

The Octa features a new grille for improved airflow, quad tailpipes with an active exhaust system, and an aluminum alloy front under shield with a graphite finish. It also has exposed Phosphor Bronze-finished front and rear recovery points.

The Defender Octa rides on massive 33-inch Goodyear Advance All-Terrain tires, the largest ever fitted to a Defender. To fit these tires, the wheel arches are extended, and the bumper is redesigned for better approach angles.

Customers can choose from four paint colors for the Octa: Petra Copper, Faroe Green, Carpathian Grey, or Charente Grey. All models feature a diamond-circled graphic and contrasting Narvik Black roof and tailgate.

Mark Cameron, Managing Director of Defender, stated: "The New Defender OCTA unlocks the full potential of Defender. It showcases our top technologies and engineering talents. With its powerful V8 engine, innovative 6D Dynamics suspension, exquisite finishes, and unique details, it is rare, incredibly tough, and highly desirable."

The Defender Octa will debut at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed from July 11-14.

Verdict

The Land Rover Defender Octa, with its powerful V8 engine, advanced suspension, and luxurious features, represents the pinnacle of Defender's capabilities. It's set to debut at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed, showcasing Land Rover's commitment to blending performance, technology, and luxury.
