In China, car companies must submit design details and vehicle info before selling their cars. Information from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has revealed key details about the all-electric Mini John Cooper Works hatchback.

Although MIIT hasn’t confirmed the battery details, the JCW is likely to use the same 49.2 kWh battery as the Cooper SE, which offers a range of about 401 km. The JCW’s range may be a bit lower due to its 258 hp motor. It can reach a top speed of 200 km/h and accelerate from 0-100 km/h faster than the SE’s 6.7 seconds.

The Aceman JCW uses the same 258 hp motor as the Mini JCW but is about 98 kg heavier, weighing around 1,768 kg. Detailed specs for both models are not yet available.
Both JCW models feature sporty design elements like aggressive side skirts, sportier bumpers, aerodynamic 18-inch wheels (on the hatchback), and contrasting exterior finishes such as black pillars and nose. The interior is likely to be sporty too, with body-hugging seats and JCW badges expected inside and out.

The Cooper JCW is expected to have a lower ride height than the SE, but this detail is not mentioned in the MIIT documents.
The upcoming electric Mini Cooper JCW, based on leaked information, is expected to feature a similar battery to the Cooper SE but with slightly reduced range due to its more powerful motor. It will offer impressive performance with a top speed of 200 km/h and quicker acceleration than the SE. The JCW models will sport distinctive design elements and a sporty interior, although the exact details on ride height and other specifications are not yet confirmed.
