Juma Al Majid Est, the exclusive distributor of Hyundai cars in UAE, marked a delighted presence at the Abu Dhabi Smart City Summit, held on 31 October and 1 November at the Conrad Hotel. During the event, Hyundai UAE unveiled the Hyundai Sonata Smart Taxi.

The launch of this AI-enabled taxi concept aligns with the vision of Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, to develop a world-class Smart & Autonomous Vehicle Industries (SAVI) cluster in Abu Dhabi.
Hyundai Sonata Smart Taxi features advanced AI technology and streaming services for increased safety, operation, and customer experience. The automaker has provided AI-enabled cameras inside the monitor to track various elements like the driver’s alertness, reaction time, and other safety parameters to ensure the safety of occupants.
Moreover, the AI system is also capable of recording the journey of every single passenger and notifying relevant parties about any belongings that the passengers left after the ride. The use of advanced AI technologies will provide a more pleasant journey experience for passengers and ensure a high level of safety.
Sultan Al Zaben, Director of Hyundai UAE, stated that Hyundai is proud to be an Exclusive Car Partner of the Abu Dhabi Smart City Summit. When unveiling the Sonata Smart Taxi, he said it’s a true testament to the commitment of Hyundai towards pioneering innovative mobility solutions. The partnership showcases how public and private sectors can work to shape a sustainable and forward-thinking future, he further added.
The smart system embedded in the car monitors the driver’s behavior to examine the causes and conditions that may lead to any error. It can also take immediate actions to reduce the chances of accidents. The technical equipment uses the live data for remote controlling and taking necessary actions as soon as possible.
The automaker has provided a Control and Monitoring Panel that assists in controlling and following up on the driver’s work, measuring operational efficiency, and preventing the vehicle from getting misused. As mentioned previously, the Hyundai Sonata Smart Taxi includes a lost and found feature that identifies the items that passengers forget inside the vehicle. The feature takes and sends the picture and other data to the control center and notifies the driver before the passenger disembarks.
