One of the biggest and most prosperous automotive companies in the world, the Hyundai Motor Group was formally established in 1998. The group owns the luxury division of Hyundai, known as Genesis, in addition to Kia. All three Hyundai Motor Group brands took home a total of 11 awards from the recently held 2023 Newsweek Autos Awards. This is comparable to the business's success the year before when it won eight awards in all.
Yong Wha Kim, President and Chief Technology Officer of Hyundai Motor Group, discussed the significant accomplishment. "We are honored to receive these awards, which reflect our commitment to excellence," Mr. Yong Wha Kim said. We are committed to spearheading the shift to the new era of electrification, and the continuous provision of innovative, customer-focused, sustainable mobility solutions that provide cutting-edge technologies and unparalleled appeal across the HMG brands is at the heart of this goal.
Hyundai was the recipient of the 'Best Brand for Your Buck' award, one of the group's nearly dozen accolades. Over the past few years, the Korean automaker has continuously designed and produced some high-quality models while also managing to keep their prices reasonable for consumers. Meanwhile, the 'Best Small Pickup' title went to the recently released Hyundai Santa Cruz. The Santa Cruz pickup costs between USD 26,650 and USD 41,070 for the 2024 model year in the US, despite not being offered in the UAE at this time.
The 2023 Newsweek Autos Awards honored Hyundai's sister company, Kia Motors, with eight honors, including the 'Most Innovative Vehicle Brand' honor. Kia went on to take home yet another prize for having the "Best SUV Lineup." SUV models like the Kia Sonet, Kia Soul, Kia Seltos, Kia Sportage, Kia Sorento, and Kia Telluride are sold in our market by Kia UAE. The Kia Sportage took home the title of "Best Two-Row SUV," while the Kia Seltos was recognized as the winner of the "Best Small SUV" and "Most Improved Vehicle" categories.

The Best Premium SUV and Best SUV Interior were the two titles that the all-electric Kia EV9 took home. Regarding the Kia Carnival, it took home the 2023 event's "Best Minivan" title. The Newsweek Autos Awards presented the new Genesis Electrified GV70 with the coveted "Vehicle Editor's Picks" title. The GV70 EV's cutting-edge features and technology package won over the judges in particular.
For the past three years, the Newsweek Autos Awards have been held annually, with cars being evaluated according to a number of significant factors. These comprise a number of elements, including the price and of course the car's design and packaging, comfort and material quality, onboard technology and sound absorption, and so forth. About 40% of the judges' assessments of individual car models are based on the cars' driving qualities, and the remaining 60% are based on the models' outward appearance and packaging.
