Since its launch, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 has been very popular. For 2025, Hyundai is updating it with design tweaks, a bigger battery, and a longer range. The new XRT variant also features a 0.9-inch suspension lift.

The driving range of the Ioniq 5 AWD is now between 400 and 450 km, depending on the wheel size and trim, up from 418 km. For the RWD models, the Limited, SE, and SEL offer over 498 km, while the SE Standard's range has improved to over 386 km, up from 354 km.

A major update for the 2025 Ioniq 5 is that it's the first Hyundai model to use the North American Charging Standard (NACS) port. This allows it to charge directly at over 17,000 Tesla Supercharger stations. Although some 2025 models will still have the old Combined Charging System port, all new Hyundai EVs will switch to the NACS port by late 2024.

The exterior now has updated bumpers and a rear windshield wiper. Inside, upgraded 12.3-inch screens have been added. Standard features include Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay. Physical buttons for key functions like steering wheel heating, seat heating, and parking assist are now on the center console. The steering wheel design has been refreshed, and all models, except the base SE, come with heated rear seats.

The 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 will be built in Georgia at Hyundai's new Metaplant America and will be available at US dealerships this fall.
