Fiat has released images and revealed intriguing details about the upcoming 2025 Grande Panda, a contemporary version of its iconic city car transformed into a subcompact SUV. The new model will offer both hybrid and electric powertrain choices while retaining the retro-futuristic, boxy design of its predecessor.
The production model of the Grande Panda prominently displays Fiat's emphasis on "strength and uniqueness" in its branding. Design cues, such as pixelated headlights, draw inspiration from Fiat's Lingotto factory windows. Another notable design element is the use of ovals, which helps in reducing costs and weight across different components.
The Grande Panda is 3,990mm long, slightly shorter than the Euro-spec Citroen C3. This larger size provides a more spacious interior capable of comfortably seating up to five passengers. It will utilize the Stellantis Smart Car platform, which it shares with the Citroen e-C3 and C3.
The Grande Panda is anticipated to offer powertrain options akin to the Citroen C3/e-C3: an electric version featuring a 44 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery pack and a 111 hp motor mounted at the front. Additionally, it will likely include a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine producing 100 hp, paired with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission and a 28 hp electric motor.
The interior of the Grande Panda prioritizes practicality with a space-efficient and minimalist design, drawing inspiration from Fiat's Concept City Car.
Manufactured in Serbia, the Grande Panda aims to be one of Fiat's most affordable models, competing directly with budget-friendly vehicles such as the Dacia Sandero and Citroen C3.
Grande Panda represents Fiat's innovative approach to blending practicality with modern design, inspired by the Concept City Car. Produced in Serbia, it aims to carve a niche as one of Fiat's most budget-friendly offerings, positioned to compete strongly against rivals like the Dacia Sandero and Citroen C3 in the affordable vehicle segment.
