EXEED has marked a new milestone for electric vehicle safety by executing the Middle East’s first live fire battery safety verification. In this major battery safety test held at Emirates Motorplex in Umm Al Quwain, EXEED highlighted its commitment to master innovation that ensures maximum battery safety in real-world driving scenarios.

In front of media, customers, and internationally recognized bodies, the EXEED RX PHEV, with its CATL’s NP self-isolation smart battery, went through a 70-second extreme heat trial. The battery survived the test without fire or explosion, successfully meeting international standards like GB-38031.
At this event, Ms. Lillian Xiong, VP of EXEED International, said that battery safety is not an option but the foundation of trust in new energy mobility. Emphasizing the importance of the test, Lillian stated that by conducting battery safety tests in public, the automaker aims to show Middle East customers to see, touch, and believe in the safety of EXEED technology.
Supported by CATL’s NP self-isolation technology, EXEED’s smart battery prevents thermal propagation even in the case of a single cell going into thermal runaway. It has been designed in combination with an advanced thermal management system that ensures stable performance in extreme heat, cold, and altitude conditions.
There is a cloud-connected Battery Management System to monitor voltage, temperature, and current in a real-time scenario, giving information about overcharge risks, overdischarge, and overheating. With this metric, the battery remains under constant intelligent supervision that ensures not only long battery health but also reduces degradation over time.
The battery pack gets a high-strength 3D aluminum alloy frame, which is reinforced with 3mm localized thickening. In the compression scenario, the pack showcased only 2.6 mm displacement under 100kN pressure, giving it exceptional resistance to deformation.
The base structure has PVC protection, high-strength steel, MPP buffering, and aluminum alloy, protecting battery cells from external impacts and scratches. To further solidify safety standards, the pole impact test witnessed the explosive disconnect switch cutting power within 2 milliseconds, much faster than the industry average. Its IPX8-rated connectors, IP68 waterproofing, and 450 mm wading depth provide EXEED RX PHEV a great fit to drive in extreme heat conditions.
