Electric GLC Is First to Feature Mercedes-Benz's New "Modern Iconic Grille"

Mercedes-Benz is all set to redefine the design language with the addition of a new grille on the all-electric GLC, along with an elevated profile. The new Iconic grille will feature a chrome frame and smoked glass lattice, integrating contour lighting. This introduction is part of the brand's effort to make its iconic design elements more modern. The electric GLC will debut at IAA Mobility in Munich on September 7, 2025, showcasing its modern yet innovative design language.

For over a century, grille design has been the hallmark of Mercedes-Benz. It has evolved from simple vertical design to intricate horizontal ones, notably seen on models like Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman and S-Class. The new grille on the electric GLC will transform into an illuminated art piece, blending design and technology.

The rise of Mercedes-Benz's Sensual Purity design philosophy has continued with the new GLC. It blends elegance, sophistication, and innovation that have already been hallmarks and key selling points of the brand's identity. At present, the Mercedes-Benz GLC series is the company's best-selling model globally, and is now entering a new era with EQ Technology and MB.OS integration.

On this update, Gordon Wagener, Chief Design Officer at Mercedes-Benz Group AG, said that the new grille is not just a new front for GLC, but it redefines the face of the company. It showcases a perfect fusion of lasting design codes reinterpreted for the future, making the models easily recognizable.

Inside the cabin, the new GLC will offer an elevated experience with new features like optional MBUX HYPERSCREEN. This seamless display configuration will enhance comfort and safety while providing an intuitive interface. The upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric is going to be more focused on maximizing drive and passenger comfort, as well as the driving experience.

It will be a significant shift in Mercedes-Benz's midsize segment, combining reliability, elegance, and advanced electric drive systems with intelligent software.
