The transaction positions DTC as the UAE's largest taxi operator by fleet size, significantly expanding its presence across both Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The acquisition, which received all required regulatory approvals, strengthens DTC's market leadership and supports its long-term strategy of building a multi-emirate mobility platform.

Dubai Taxi Company Completes Landmark Acquisition

Dubai Taxi Company has officially finalized the acquisition of 100% of National Taxi's share capital in a transaction valued at Dh1.45 billion. The completion follows approvals from Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Abu Dhabi's Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), clearing the way for one of the UAE's largest mobility sector transactions.

The acquisition represents a major milestone for DTC as it accelerates its expansion beyond Dubai while strengthening its operational footprint in Abu Dhabi.

Deal Structure and Regulatory Approval

The final purchase price was confirmed at Dh1.45 billion and adjusted through a locked-box mechanism outlined in the sale and purchase agreement.

The transaction was completed after securing all necessary approvals from Dubai's RTA and Abu Dhabi's ITC, ensuring compliance with transport regulations in both emirates.

As DTC's first significant acquisition following its stock market listing, the deal signals the company's intent to pursue strategic expansion through consolidation within the UAE's mobility sector.

National Taxi Adds Scale and Financial Strength

National Taxi brings more than 2,700 vehicles into the Dubai Taxi Company network, substantially increasing the group's operating capacity.

For the financial year ending July 2025, National Taxi reported revenue of Dh774 million and EBITDA of Dh183 million, highlighting the company's strong operational performance ahead of the acquisition.

The addition of National Taxi's established business is expected to enhance DTC's scale while creating opportunities for operational efficiencies after integration.

Fleet Expansion Strengthens Market Leadership

Following the acquisition, Dubai Taxi Company now operates a combined fleet of more than 9,500 vehicles across Dubai and Abu Dhabi, making it the country's largest taxi operator by fleet size.

The enlarged business commands an estimated 59% share of Dubai's taxi market while expanding its presence in the capital with approximately 12% market share in Abu Dhabi.

The broader geographic footprint enables DTC to serve two of the UAE's largest mobility markets under a unified operating platform.

CEO: Acquisition Is a Transformational Milestone

Commenting on the completion of the deal, Mansoor Rahma Alfalasi, Group CEO of Dubai Taxi Company, described the acquisition as a transformational step for the business.

He said the transaction reinforces DTC's leadership position in Dubai while establishing a stronger foundation in Abu Dhabi, creating a multi-emirate mobility platform. Alfalasi added that the company's immediate priority is the successful integration of National Taxi's operations while delivering long-term value for shareholders.

Strategic Growth Across the UAE Mobility Market

The acquisition forms a central part of Dubai Taxi Company's five-year growth strategy, allowing the company to expand its scale across key UAE mobility markets.

By combining operations across Dubai and Abu Dhabi, DTC aims to strengthen its competitive position while improving efficiency and creating a larger platform for future growth.

The expanded network is expected to enhance service coverage and reinforce DTC's role in supporting the UAE's evolving urban mobility ecosystem.

Earnings Outlook and Dividend Expectations

Dubai Taxi Company expects the acquisition to be earnings-accretive from the first full year of ownership. The company also anticipates additional financial benefits as operational synergies are realized during the integration process.

Despite the sizeable investment, DTC stated that it expects to maintain its existing dividend profile following the transaction, providing reassurance to investors as the company enters its next phase of expansion.

What the Deal Means for the UAE Mobility Sector

The completion of the National Taxi acquisition marks a significant consolidation within the UAE's transport industry. With a fleet exceeding 9,500 vehicles and expanded operations across two major emirates, Dubai Taxi Company is well positioned to strengthen its leadership in the country's taxi and mobility market.

The transaction also underscores the growing importance of scale, operational efficiency, and regional expansion as mobility providers adapt to increasing demand across the UAE.
