Dubai Motorists to Enjoy 6 Days of Free Parking During Eid Al Adha 2026

Dubai motorists will enjoy six consecutive days of free public parking during the Eid Al Adha 2026 holidays, according to an official announcement from Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

The free parking period will run from Sunday, May 24, to Friday, May 29, 2026. While the official Eid free parking starts on Monday, May 25, parking is already free on Sundays across Dubai, effectively giving residents a six-day benefit.

The free parking applies to all public parking zones across the emirate, except multi-storey parking buildings, which will continue to charge normal fees.

Key Highlights

  • Free parking from May 24 to May 29, 2026.
  • Applies to all public parking zones in Dubai.
  • Multi-storey parking buildings excluded.
  • Eid Al Adha holidays create a six-day long weekend for many residents.
  • Dubai Metro and Tram services extended during Eid.
  • Temporary changes announced for intercity bus routes.
  • Selected RTA service centres to remain open 24/7.

Long Eid Weekend for UAE Residents.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) announced a four-day paid Eid holiday for private sector employees from Tuesday, May 26, to Friday, May 29, 2026.

For employees who already have Saturday and Sunday off, the break extends to six days, making it one of the longest public holiday weekends of the year.

The extended holiday is expected to increase travel activity, shopping, and family gatherings across Dubai and the UAE.

Dubai Metro and Tram Timings During Eid

To accommodate higher passenger movement during Eid, the RTA has extended Metro and Tram operating hours.

Dubai Metro

  • Red and Green Lines: 5:00 AM to 1:00 AM.
  • Sunday operations begin at 8:00 AM.

Dubai Tram

  • Operates from 6:00 AM to 1:00 AM.
  • Sunday services start at 9:00 AM.

Residents are encouraged to use public transport to avoid traffic congestion near Eid prayer grounds and popular destinations.

Bus Route Changes and RTA Service Updates

The RTA has also announced temporary adjustments to some intercity bus services.

Important Bus Update

Bus Route E100 from Al Ghubaiba to Abu Dhabi will not operate from May 23 to May 31
Passengers travelling to Abu Dhabi should instead use Route E101 from Ibn Battuta Bus Station

Most RTA Customer Happiness Centres will remain closed during Eid holidays. However, selected smart kiosks and the Umm Ramool centre will continue operating around the clock.

Vehicle testing centres will remain closed from May 26 to May 29 and reopen on Saturday, May 30.

Conclusion

Dubai’s six-day free parking initiative for Eid Al Adha 2026 offers added convenience for residents during the festive season. Alongside extended Metro and Tram timings, the move is expected to support smoother travel and reduce congestion across the city.

Residents are advised to plan their trips early, check updated transport schedules, and make use of public transport services during the Eid holiday period.
