[Dubai Takes Another Green Step with 46 New EV Chargers]
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has strengthened its electric vehicle infrastructure by installing 46 EV charging points at the parking facilities of its new Al Shera'a headquarters. The installation forms part of DEWA's ongoing Green Charger initiative, reflecting the authority's commitment to advancing sustainable transportation and supporting the wider adoption of electric vehicles in Dubai.
The latest deployment is designed to provide convenient charging access while reinforcing DEWA's long-term sustainability strategy and efforts to promote environmentally friendly mobility solutions.
The newly installed charging stations are part of DEWA's Green Charger initiative, a program aimed at expanding electric vehicle charging infrastructure across Dubai. By increasing the availability of charging facilities, the authority continues to encourage cleaner transportation options while supporting the emirate's sustainability ambitions.
The addition of charging points at Al Shera'a highlights DEWA's focus on integrating green technologies into its own operations and creating infrastructure that supports the growing number of electric vehicle users.
A total of 46 charging points have been installed at the headquarters.
Out of the total, 40 AC charging points have been designated exclusively for DEWA employees, allowing staff to conveniently recharge their electric vehicles while at work.
The remaining six DC charging points are reserved for official visitors. DC chargers typically provide faster charging capabilities, making them suitable for users requiring quicker charging during shorter visits.
This allocation ensures that both employees and official guests have access to dedicated charging facilities based on their respective needs.
The installation reflects DEWA's continued efforts to promote green mobility and reduce the environmental impact of transportation. Expanding EV charging infrastructure is a key component of encouraging electric vehicle adoption and supporting cleaner urban mobility across Dubai.
Through initiatives such as Green Charger, DEWA continues to contribute to the development of a more sustainable transportation ecosystem while aligning its infrastructure investments with the emirate's broader environmental objectives.
