Chevrolet has unveiled the Corvette CX and CX.R Vision Gran Turismo Concepts at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, previewing the future of Corvette design direction. While the previewed models are not intended for production, they provide a glimpse of what the Corvette vehicle of the future will look like. With this unveiling, Chevrolet also celebrated over 70 years of American sports car heritage.

The Corvette CX Concept is designed and developed at the Chevrolet Performance Studio in Warren, MI. It showcases a future-focused vision while maintaining its identical design found in other Corvette models. The concept gets a long, low silhouette, dual-element taillights, and a forward-lunging nose that echoes generations of Corvette styling. Inside the cabin, it features a fighter jet-inspired cockpit canopy for futuristic performance intent.

In this concept model, Corvette has offered a four-motor all-wheel-drive electric powertrain system, producing over 2,000 horsepower. It also has a 90kWh battery pack that ensures low center of gravity and balanced weight distribution. The automaker has also focused on optimizing downforce and handling on road and track with active aero and a vacuum fan system.
The interior is designed to provide a personalized and high-tech experience, featuring Inferno Red ballistic textiles, premium silicone leather, milled aluminium, and forged carbon fiber accents. It also has a forward-opening canopy and an immersive digital windscreen.
Chevrolet also presented the Corvette CX.R Vision Gran Turismo, which is specifically developed for racetrack performance. It is designed for maximum aerodynamic efficiency and has a lower ride height and reduced vehicle weight. The CX.R VGT blends Corvette Racing’s 25-year legacy and gets a familiar yellow-and-black livery to honor past Corvette GT racecars. The active aero systems and aggressive exterior designs strengthen the concept’s track-focused nature.

It is powered by a mid-mounted 2.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, making up to 900 horsepower. The internal combustion engine is paired with three electric motors to elevate the total power delivery capacity to 2,000 horsepower. The concept is said to get power from renewable e-fuel, and the hybrid powertrain setup is paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, providing immediate torque and jaw-dropping acceleration.
Inside the cabin, lightweight carbon fiber has been used across the surfaces, suede-wrapped seats, and enhanced driver support for maximum comfort and control on high-speed track racing.
Chevrolet has partnered with Polyphony Digital for Gran Turismo 7, allowing fans to drive CX and CX.R VGT concepts virtually. With this option, Chevrolet car enthusiasts can experience these future-focused performance models and understand how capable the final production version of these concepts will be.
