Chevrolet has officially expanded its Captiva lineup in the Middle East with the launch of two electrified models, the Captiva Electric and Captiva Plug-in Hybrid. These new models have been built on the popularity of the original Captiva as a more family-focused, value-oriented SUV. These new variants of the Chevrolet Captiva offer customers a more future-focused and stylish SUV across the region.

The existing models continue to be powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine delivering 149 horsepower and come with a 7-seating capacity. Currently, the Chevrolet Captiva SUV is available in LS, LT, Premier, and Midnight Edition variants. With the addition of all-electric and plug-in hybrid options, the customers in the region now have six trims of Captiva to choose from, depending upon their drive requirements and preferences.

The all-new Captiva EV gets a 60kWh lithium battery, enabling it to make up to 201 horsepower and provide the NEDC range of 415 km on a single charge. The vehicle also supports fast charging capability, ensuring the battery gets charged up to 80% in 45 minutes or delivers 75 km of range in 10 minutes of fast charging. The EV gets delivered with a standard Level 1 portable charger, a 7kW wallbox for home charging, and a Type 2 cable.

For extended range, Chevrolet has also introduced the Captiva PHEV that comes mated with a 1.5-liter petrol engine and a 20.5kWh battery, producing 201 horsepower of combined power output and up to 1,000 km of NEDC range. It has three drive modes, including EV, HEV, and EV MAX, and four performance settings, including ECO, ECO+, and Standard Sport. The charging options provided include Level 1, Level 2 (3.3 kW), and DC fast charging up to 24kW.

Both new models have a refreshed design that makes the vehicle both longer and wider compared to existing variants in the market. The cabin area features five seats, up to 532 liters of cargo space, and leatherette upholstery in black or beige color options. The dashboard features modern styling and is available in LT and Premier trims. The exterior color options available for Captiva EV and PHEV customers include Galaxy White, Laser Grey, Shadow Golden, Dawn Blue, Khaki Green, and Red Metallic. A dual-tone roof option is available in all electric versions of this family SUV.
For technological features, there is a 10.1-inch infotainment screen and an 8.8-inch driver cluster in LT trim, while the Premier gets an additional 15.6-inch display, panoramic sunroof, power tailgate, 360-degree camera, and an advanced driver assistance system that includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and forward collision alert. Both models come equipped with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, smart keyless entry, 4 airbags, and folding electric mirrors.
