BYD has launched the Seal U electric SUV, derived from its Seal sedan, targeting regions such as Europe where there is increasing demand for electric vehicles amidst the push for environmentally-friendly transportation solutions.

The new electric SUV, designed to meet the needs of families, combines comfort, advanced technology, and spaciousness with eco-friendly features. It is offered in two trims: Design, equipped with an 87 kWh battery providing up to 500 km range, and Comfort, featuring a 71.8 kWh battery offering up to 420 km range, both tested under the WLTP protocol. The Seal U is powered by a cobalt-free BYD Blade Battery known for its high energy density.
The BYD Seal U stands out for its rapid charging feature, achieving an 80% charge in just 30 minutes. With DC charging capabilities of up to 140 kW for the Design trim and 115 kW for the Comfort trim, along with AC charging at 11 kW. In terms of dimensions, the electric vehicle measures 4,785 mm in length, 1,668 mm in height, 1,890 mm in width, and has a wheelbase of 2,765 mm.

The BYD Seal U features LED lighting across its exterior, including fog lights, daytime running lights, and headlights, ensuring exceptional visibility. Sporting 19-inch alloy wheels, it offers remote control functionality through the BYD app and an intelligent cockpit system. An impressive feature is its vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, enabling it to act as a reliable mobile power source for emergencies or external devices.
