BYD has shown the first images of the Seal 06 GT, which will be fully unveiled on August 30, 2024. This electric hatchback sits between the Dolphin and Seal sedan in BYD's lineup.

According to the China Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the BYD Seal 06 GT will offer two powertrain choices: an all-wheel drive (AWD) with dual motors producing 421 hp, and a rear-wheel drive (RWD) with a single motor generating about 218 hp.
Although the exact acceleration figures for the Seal 06 GT aren't available, it's expected to be close to the 390kW Seal Performance edition, which goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds.

The production version of the Seal 06 GT has a more understated design compared to the bold Ocean-M concept. It still features elements like full-width tail lights, notched headlights, and flush door handles, but with a more refined overall look.
Inside, the Seal 06 GT features a sleek, modern design with a spacious feel. The cabin includes a central touchscreen, a large digital instrument display, and a dual-layer center console with a circular control setup.

The Seal 06 GT is expected to attract driving enthusiasts with its high-end interior and sporty design. In China, it is estimated to cost between ¥150,000-103,000 (about AED 77,000-100,000). This makes it cheaper than the Seal, which is priced at ¥179,800 (AED 92,601), and more expensive than the Dolphin at ¥99,800 (AED 51,399).
The BYD Seal 06 GT combines a modern design with strong performance options, offering both AWD and RWD configurations. Priced competitively in China, it presents a refined, sporty alternative to its BYD siblings, appealing to driving enthusiasts who seek a balance between performance and luxury.
