BYD has launched its flagship plug-in hybrid SUV, the Denza N9, in China with a price of 389,800 to 449,800 yuan (approximately AED 194,000 to AED 224,000). While the initial launch took place in China, the model is anticipated to make its UAE debut soon, with an expected starting price of AED 200,000.

BYD Denza N9 has an e3 three electric motor system, built on e-Platform 3.0, part of the brand's new electric vehicle range. The SUV gets a front AC asynchronous motor capable of delivering 268 horsepower and 315 Nm of torque, while the rear dual motor setup, left and right side each, produces 322 horsepower and 360 Nm of torque. The combined motor power of Denza N9 is 590 hp and torque of 675 Nm.
The SUV features a 2.0T engine delivering 204 horsepower and 325 Nm of torque. The Chinese automaker has also offered a 46.9 kWh blade battery, ensuring a pure electric range of 202 km, while the comprehensive range of 1302 km when the electric power is combined with a 2.0T engine. BYD Denza can accelerate 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and charge 30% to 80% in 19 minutes.
Featuring a bold and contemporary design, the N9 SUV has a striking front fascia that includes a large hexagonal grille enhanced with a chrome accent. The front grille properly blends with the vehicle's sleek and sharp LED headlamps, adding to its more sophisticated and aggressive styling. The SUV gets unique LED DRLs for a premium touch. The side profile of the BYD Denza N9 features a clean aerodynamics line stretching from front to rear.

Some chrome accents around the windows and door handle, along with large multi-spoke alloy wheels, enhance its futuristic design. On the rear profile, it gets an LED taillamp strip that spans the vehicle's width. It also has integrated exhaust outlets and skid plates for the rugged character. The Denza N9 offers a boot space of 351-liter and has a wheelbase of 3125 mm. Additionally, it measures 5258 mm in length, 2030 mm in width, and 1830 mm in height.
Following the 6+6+6 design layout, the interior Denza N9 SUV is spacious and designed to accommodate six passengers, six suitcases, and six backpacks. It can house four 20-inch standard cabin suitcases and two children's trolley cases or a 47-inch gold bag horizontally for practicality. Moreover, It has 46 properly distributed storage spaces to keep personal belongings when commuting on city roads or highways.

BYD has used premium material throughout the cabin and provided a 2+2+2 seating layout to accommodate six passengers comfortably. There is an option to choose from grey or white theme-based soft leather upholstery. The second-row seats come mated with 14-+way electric adjustment and have a small table, wireless charger, and heading and massage function. The third-row seats have a 6-way electric adjustment and heating feature. The automaker has also offered an 11-liter refrigerator for added luxury.
On the tech side, the BYD Denza N9 gets a 17.3-inch central control floating screen, a 13.2-inch co-pilot screen, a 50-inch AR-HUD, a 13.2-inch LCD instrument panel on high spec trim, and a 17.3-inch rear ceiling screen. The SUV also boasts AI voice assistance, a 26-speaker Devialt sound system, an advanced driver assistance system, 12 ultrasonic radars, and 14 cameras. One of the key features available in Denza N9 is God's Eye Drone System, which provides options for drone integration directly with the vehicle.
As of now, BYD Denza N9 is officially launched in China. However, BYD has several models in the UAE market, increasing the chances of the Denza N9 launch in the UAE market. If launched, the N9 SUV will rival the Volvo XC90 Recharge, Range Rover PHEV, Lexus LX 700h, Infiniti QX80, and Mercedes-Benz EQG.
