At IAA Mobility 2025, BMW has gained spotlight with the global debut of the all-new BMW iX3. It is the first model to be based on BMW’s much-anticipated Neue Klasse platform. This technological evolution not only marks a new chapter for the brand’s electric lineup but also introduces a new technology that aims to redefine the future of mobility.

BMW’s launch of the all-new BMW iX3 at the IAA Mobility Summit and its Open Space experience at Max-Joseph-Platz reflects the brand’s intention to lead the position in the current automotive landscape where hybrid and electrified models are gaining the attention of global customers. The new iX3 brings a futuristic interpretation of electrified mobility with critical advancements in terms of digitalization, interior experience, and charging innovation.
As being developed on the Neue Klasse platform, the iX3 comprises BMW’s sixth-generation eDrive technology, the immersive Panoramic iDrive, and bidirectional charging capability. It enables users to charge their homes or feed back into the public grid, which is said to be a transformative feature in electric mobility.
BMW’s all-new Panoramic iDrive features a full-width windshield and a new user interface with state-of-the-art controls and superior interactivity. The German automaker has developed this technology entirely in-house and will now make it standard across all upcoming BMW models. The new Heart of Joy high-performance computing unit further enhances the driving dynamics, while the bidirectional charging feature enables iX3 to interact with home and public energy infrastructure with vehicle-to-home and vehicle-to-grid systems.
MINI also brought two bold JCW show cars, celebrating the brand’s motorsport heritage and British identity. Showcased at MINI Pavillon and Max-Joseph-Platz, MINI’s show cars are inspired by fashion and lifestyle energy. These models aim to attract customers who love design and performance. On the other hand, BMW Motorrad gave a glimpse of urban two-wheel mobility, revealing the BMW CE 02 and CE 04 electric scooters. At the event, the futuristic BMW Vision CE was also teased as the next premium city two-wheeler.
Presented as a symbol of continuity, the BMW 1500 from 1961 made a special appearance at the IAA Summit. Alongside the BMW 1500, BMW also presented the BMW iX3, BMW i4, BMW i5, and BMW i7, as well as the plug-in hybrid BMW M5 Touring. The German automaker also showcased the BMW iX5 Hydrogen, taking a step forward towards hydrogen mobility.
A new high-performance charging hub was introduced at BMW Welt, which showcases the brand’s commitment to making EV adoption accessible with the establishment of cutting-edge infrastructure. Guests were also able to experience BMW’s interactive sessions and learn about BMW Charging services. The BMW Museum unveiled the DigiTour, a digital guide that offers a rich interactive experience about the history and design legacy of BMW.
