Bentley delayed its goal for a fully electric lineup from 2030 to 2035 due to slowing luxury EV demand.
Plug-in hybrids will continue as a key focus until full electrification.
Starting in 2026, Bentley plans to launch a new PHEV or EV model each year, beginning with an electric SUV.
Bentley aims to expand its lineup, hinting at more hybrid and electric options while possibly retaining combustion-engine models.
A new version of the Bentayga is expected next year, showing Bentley’s balanced approach to electrification and traditional models.
Bentley has delayed its goal to become fully electric from 2030 to 2035 due to shifting market conditions. In the meantime, it will focus on plug-in hybrids but still aims to go fully electric by 2035.
Bentley’s CEO, Frank-Steffen Walliser, noted that demand for EVs is currently low, but rising competition and new regulations are pushing the shift to electric. Despite slower demand, Bentley aims to be ready for a new wave of customers.

Bentley’s original Beyond100 plan aimed for an all-electric lineup by 2030, but slower luxury EV demand has shifted this to 2032/33. Now, Bentley aims for full electrification by 2035 and will keep offering plug-in hybrids until then.
With the W12 engine phased out, Bentley now powers the Flying Spur and Continental GT with a V8 PHEV. Under the updated Beyond100 plan, Bentley will launch a new PHEV or EV model each year for the next decade, starting with an electric SUV in 2026. It’s unclear how many of these models will be hybrids versus fully electric.

Bentley hasn’t confirmed if upcoming releases will be new models or just powertrain updates, though it has hinted at expanding its lineup. The brand may still introduce models with traditional engines, including a new Bentayga expected next year, balancing combustion engines with its move towards electrification.
Bentley is adapting its transition to electrification by balancing traditional combustion engines with hybrid and electric models in response to evolving market demands. While delaying its full EV lineup target to 2035, Bentley remains focused on gradually expanding its electrified offerings, with plans for both plug-in hybrids and new electric models. This approach allows Bentley to cater to current preferences while preparing for future shifts in customer expectations and regulatory requirements.
