The new electric vehicle project called 'Purple,' plans to develop nine electric models by 2030 through its partnership with SAIC. These EVs will use a new platform and feature batteries from CATL, motors from IM Motor, and driver-assist technology from Momenta.

Porsche and Audi updated their electric vehicle plans in July 2025, recognizing that the shift will take longer than expected. Audi plans to switch to an all-electric lineup by 2033, with hybrid models introduced in the meantime. The Audi A5 will be the last petrol-only car before this transition.
