Audi officially announced that it had manufactured over 10 million units of C-series vehicles. The ninth-generation Audi A6 Avant is currently on sale in Europe. Recently, Audi shared a family photo with Audi employees showcasing their C-series models from across the generations.
The newest iteration of the Audi A6 Avant has more dynamic design, efficient performance, and digital features than previous generation models, while maintaining a top-end luxury experience in the premium full-size sedan.
The Audi A6 Avant has been sold and is available to all authorized dealerships across Europe since May 16, and the all-new A6 sedan is scheduled to launch by the end of July this year.
Audi confirmed that two A6 models are based on Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) and powered by modern gasoline and diesel engines. There is also mild hybrid technology PHEV plus support for a combustion engine, enhancing overall performance, driving comfort, and contributing to sustainability by reducing carbon emissions.
Audi has provided adaptive air suspension and all-wheel steering for a smooth ride and agile handling on long trips on highways and short commutes in the city. The all-new Audi A6 Avant features an elegant, dynamic design with well-defined aerodynamics. Audi has offered both of these models in a plug-in hybrid option.
The Audi C-series is one of the most successful products from a German-based luxury car manufacturer and is continuing to manufacture the night generation of the Audi A6 in its Neckarsulm plant.
With the Audi 100, the luxury car brand continued to witness success in the premium mid-size segment in 1968. The Audi 100 (C1 to C4) received the Golden Steering Wheel five times and was awarded Car of the Year twice and World Car of the Year once.
The automaker sold about 3.2 million units of the Audi 100, showcasing the model’s popularity in the automobile market. Over time, Audi demonstrated several cutting-edge innovations, like a fully galvanized body, more refined aerodynamics, and a highly efficient engine. In 1994, Audi rebranded the Audi 100 as the Audi A6, and the name continues to make its footprint in global markets.
According to official data, the German luxury car manufacturer has successfully manufactured 9,836,762 units of its C-series vehicles as of April 2025. While many brands struggled to maintain such long-term success, Audi, on the other hand, has redefined the segment with its C-series vehicle and continues to strengthen its position with cutting-edge innovation.
To celebrate this significant milestone, the automaker created a special photo of eight employees with each C model from generation C1 to C8, gathered at Audi Piazza in Ingolstadt in front of the museum mobile to welcome new members, the all-new C9 Audi A6 Avant to the family.
