In collaboration with Inter Emirates Motors, MG launched its new T60 pick-up in UAE on Monday, a big step by MG to strengthen its mid-size light pick-up truck portfolio in the Kingdom after witnessing success in the Middle East. The new T60 pick-up has rugged off-road capabilities while retaining necessary features to keep it ideal for everyday use. Here are the five things you should know about the new MG T60 launched in UAE.
The newest mid-size pick-up truck from MG has been offered in two powertrain options: 2.8-liter turbo-diesel inline-4 and 2.4-liter NA petrol inline-4 engine. The 2.8-liter turbo-diesel inline-4 engine configuration comes with six manual or six automatic transmissions, producing 150 HP of power output and 360 Nm of peak torque. The carmaker has offered 2WD and 4WD variants and three drive modes - Eco, Standard, and Power. On the other hand, the 2.4-liter NA petrol inline-4 powertrain delivers 136 HP and 200 Nm of peak torque. The petrol variant offers five manual transmissions along with 2WD and 4WD options. It also boasts three drive modes, as available in diesel powertrain options.
The new MG T60 has been launched in UAE with several updates in its exterior design, including rounded corners and missing all-around body cladding. The vehicle has a honeycomb grille, 16-inch alloy wheels, a double cabin, flared wheel arches, and halogen lighting on the front and back profiles. Moreover, the T60 now measures 5,365 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, 1,809 mm in height, 3,155 mm in wheelbase, and 215 mm in ground clearance.
MG T60's interior looks elegant and simple, which also includes a standard touchscreen display, a 4-speaker music system, and a semi-digital instrument cluster with MID. The interior has manual air conditioning, rear AC vents, adjustable seats, and fabric upholstery. The mid-size SUV pick-up can accommodate five adult passengers.
The carmaker has offered ABS with EBD, ISOFIX anchors, dual airbags, TPMS, and rear parking sensors. Additionally, the T60 has received a five-star safety rating from Australia NCAP.
The new MG T60 is based on the SAIC Maxus T60 sold in China. In UAE, it is offered with a three-year or up to 120,000 km of warranty cover. The buyers can choose from seven color schemes and some add-ons.
