Hyundai has officially taken the wraps off the 2027 Elantra, introducing a dramatic redesign, a larger body, enhanced technology, and a more powerful hybrid powertrain. Revealed at the 2026 Busan International Mobility Show, the eighth-generation sedan signals Hyundai’s ambition to keep the Elantra competitive in an increasingly tech-focused and electrified market.
The biggest transformation comes in the form of the Elantra’s striking new appearance. Built around Hyundai’s latest "Art of Steel" design philosophy, the sedan adopts a sharper, more futuristic look with vertical LED daytime running lights, sculpted body lines, wider rear haunches, and stylish 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.
The new model is also larger than before, measuring 55 mm longer and 30 mm wider, while its wheelbase has been extended by 30 mm. These changes not only improve road presence but also create additional cabin space for passengers.
Inside, Hyundai has completely redesigned the cabin with a stronger focus on comfort, connectivity, and usability.
A new 14.6-inch Pleos infotainment display takes centre stage alongside a slim digital instrument cluster and head-up display. Unlike many modern vehicles, Hyundai has retained physical controls for climate functions and key vehicle settings, improving everyday usability.
| Feature | Availability |
|---|---|
| 14.6-inch Infotainment Screen | Standard |
| Head-Up Display | Available |
| Bang & Olufsen Audio System | Available |
| Ventilated Front Seats | Available |
| Wireless Charging with Cooling | Available |
| 360-Degree Camera | Available |
| Dual-Zone Climate Control | Available |
The 2027 Elantra receives Hyundai’s latest Level 2 ADAS package, including the new Smart Cruise Control 2 system. The technology can automatically adjust speed near school zones, speed limit areas, and traffic-calming sections.
A new Pedal Misuse Safety Assist system has also been introduced to help prevent unintended acceleration incidents.
Under the bonnet, Hyundai continues to offer a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 149 HP. However, the biggest improvement comes from the hybrid variant.
The updated 1.6-litre hybrid powertrain now generates 157 HP, an increase of 16 HP over its predecessor. Hyundai has also upgraded the battery, electric motor, and transmission while adding intelligent regenerative braking and route-based energy management technology for improved efficiency.
The all-new Hyundai Elantra is expected to go on sale in South Korea later this year before expanding to global markets. UAE buyers can likely expect the new-generation sedan to arrive in 2027, with pricing anticipated to be higher than the current model, which starts from AED 76,250.
With a bold new design, smarter technology, and a stronger hybrid system, the 2027 Hyundai Elantra looks ready to raise the bar in the compact sedan segment.
