[From city streets to desert dunes, the 2026 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is engineered to perform without compromise]
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — Toyota has officially introduced the 2026 Land Cruiser Prado in Saudi Arabia, giving its iconic SUV a complete makeover. Built on a stronger platform, equipped with new technology, and offered in nine trim levels, the latest Prado aims to strengthen its position in one of the Middle East's most competitive SUV segments. Prices range from SAR 199,582.50 for the TX-2 petrol to SAR 294,112.50 for the flagship VXL-3.
Available in nine grades priced between SAR 199,582.50 and SAR 294,112.50.
Two turbocharged engine choices: 2.4-litre petrol and 2.8-litre diesel.
Built on Toyota's GA-F body-on-frame platform.
Standard seven-seat layout across the lineup.
Toyota Safety Sense is offered from the TXL-3 trim onwards.
VXL-3 exclusively gets Adaptive Variable Suspension, JBL audio, and a panoramic sunroof.
The biggest change lies beneath the body. The new Prado is based on Toyota's GA-F platform, delivering greater structural rigidity, improved ride comfort, and enhanced off-road durability while reducing overall weight. The SUV feels more refined without sacrificing the rugged capability that has made the Prado one of the region's most trusted nameplates.
Positioned between the Toyota RAV4 and the full-size Land Cruiser, the Prado competes with rivals including the Nissan Patrol, Jeep Wagoneer, and BYD Ti 7.
Toyota has retained the Prado's unmistakable SUV character with a bold, boxy design, squared wheel arches, upright mirrors, and a heritage-inspired grille. Wheel sizes range from 18-inch alloys on entry variants to 20-inch black alloys on higher trims, while premium LED lighting becomes available as buyers move up the lineup.
Inside, every Prado offers seven-seat practicality. Base models feature fabric upholstery and manual seats, while TXL trims introduce heated, ventilated, and power-adjustable front seats. ADV variants add leather upholstery, memory functions, and power-folding third-row seats. The flagship VXL-3 completes the premium package with a heated steering wheel, panoramic sunroof, illuminated door sills, and additional luxury touches.
Technology has received a major upgrade. Entry variants include an 8-inch touchscreen and 7-inch driver display, while the VXL-3 features a 12.3-inch infotainment system, fully digital instrument cluster, and 14-speaker JBL premium sound system.
Apple CarPlay and USB-C charging ports come standard across all variants. Higher trims also gain wireless charging, a head-up display, 360-degree camera, navigation, and a built-in tyre inflator designed for desert adventures.
Toyota offers buyers a choice between two turbocharged engines. The 2.4-litre petrol produces 267 hp and 430 Nm, delivering stronger acceleration for everyday driving. The 2.8-litre turbo diesel generates 201 hp and 500 Nm, making it ideal for towing, off-roading, and long-distance journeys.
Both engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and full-time four-wheel drive. Fuel efficiency stands at 10.6 km/L for the petrol and 14.1 km/L for the diesel.
The Prado continues to excel off the beaten path. Standard equipment includes central and rear differential locks, Crawl Control, and Multi-Terrain Select with six driving modes for sand, rock, and mud.
The flagship VXL-3 further enhances capability with Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) and Toyota's Stabilizer Disconnect Mechanism, improving both ride comfort and wheel articulation on demanding terrain.
Every Prado includes ABS, Vehicle Stability Control, and Hill-Start Assist. However, Toyota's Safety Sense suite—including Pre-Collision System, Radar Cruise Control, and Lane Tracing Assist—is available only from the TXL-3 trim upwards.
ADV and VXL variants further add Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and additional airbags, making them the safest options in the range.
