Toyota GR Corolla has already been well recognized as one of the most exciting hot hatchbacks in the market, and with new features and hardware updates in the 2026 model year, the automaker has taken the performance benchmarks to the next level. With sharper handling, superior rigidity, and added premium touches, the 2026 Toyota Corolla presents itself as more capable than ever. It has been built with the expertise of Toyota GAZOO Racing, making this rally-inspired powerhouse perform exceptionally on road and track conditions.

Under the hood, the new GR Corolla features a 1.6-liter, 3-cylinder turbocharged G16E-GTS engine, producing 300 horsepower at 6.500 RPM and 295 lb ft of torque. The engine unit is paired with a 6-speed Intelligent Manual Transmission or a newly refined 8-speed GAZOO Racing Direct Automatic, ensuring drivers get raw manual excitement or quick, intuitive automatic shifts depending upon their driving preferences.
Toyota has also equipped the 2026 Corolla with the GR-FOUR AWD system, which is developed alongside its World Rally Championship program. It also has selectable driving modes, including Normal (60:40), Gravel (50:50), and Track (30:70), adapting seamlessly to dirt trails, snow, or racing circuits.
To further enhance performance, there are front and rear Torsen Limited-Slip Differentials as standard. For more thrilling acceleration, the DAT models include a launch control feature, making it perfect for track requirements.
As part of the 2026 updates, it gets 45.6 feet of additional structural adhesive across the body, further enhancing the rigidity and stability of the vehicle. As a result, the GR Corolla offers sharper steering, better suspension response, and a more planted feel through the corners. There is also a new secondary air intake duct provided to manage engine temperature under heavy loads.
Inside the cabin is a fully equipped driver's dashboard and a premium seating arrangement with necessary comfort features. For instance, it offers Buldge hood and functional air vents as well as Gloss Black 15-spoke alloy wheels, and a color-keyed rear spoiler. For a more premium feel, it offers Brin Naub suede-trimmed sports seats. In base GR Corolla, Toyota has offered grey stitching, whereas the Premium Plus trim gets red stitching and forged carbon fiber roof for a race-inspired touch. There is also a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster for offering necessary information on the screen, as well as an 8-inch multimedia system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with Wi-Fi hotspot capability.
For safety features, the GR Corolla comes equipped with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which includes advanced safety features like pre-collision assist, dynamic radar cruise control, lane departure warning, and road sign alert. It also gets active sound control in Premium Plus trim and an enhanced JBL Premium Sound System with 9 speakers and a subwoofer.
The GR Corolla Base MT and Base AT have been priced $33,920 (approx AED 124,500) and $41,920 (approx AED 153,900), respectively, whereas the GR Corolla Premium Plus MT and Premium Plus AT are available at $45,965 (approx AED 168,800) and $47,965 (approx AED 176,150), respectively.
