The 2026 BMW M2 Racing Coupe has undergone some major updates, but with a notable downgrade in powertrain, it is less powerful than its three predecessors. BMW first introduced its M235i Racing, followed by M240i Racing and M2 CS Racing. All three models had six cylinders, while only the M2 CS was configured with an M division-specific power plant.

Available at BMW M Motorsport dealers, the redesigned M2 Racing is priced at €98,000 (approximately AED 408,900) in Europe, making it more expensive than the M2 Coupe, which is priced at €77,500 (approximately AED 323,300). While the price has increased for this racing coupe car, BMW M Motorsport has offered regular production B48 inline-four turbo engines instead of the high-performance S58 twin-turbocharged I6 engine of the M2 Coupe.
Based on the provided media guide, the engine is rated to produce 308 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque. These performance figures are comparable to the BMW M235i Gran Coupe, a model from the rear-biased 2 Series Coupe. Despite a significant power drop, the new BMW M2 Racing can still be a prominent choice for many. It can reach a maximum speed of 270 km/h and uses a seven-speed version of the ZF 8HP automatic box and BMW M Motorsport software.
It also features adjustable power levels with a transport mode, an exhaust system with a racing cat, separate cooling for the mechanical differential lock, BMW M Compound disc brakes and calipers, and brake pads. Some notable features include adjustable anti-roll bars, a roll cage, LED headlights, and rear fog lights, all of which come standard. Like other road-going M2 Coupes and other variants of the BMW 2 Series Coupe, the 2026 BMW M2 Racing is built in the San Luis Potosi assembly plant in Mexico.
The all-new 2026 M2 Coupe is confirmed to go on sale in June 2025, serving as the less powerful sibling to the 6-cylinder M4 GT4 EVO. However, the prices for the US and other global markets have not been released.
In the UAE, the BMW M2 Coupe is an available M TwinPower inline 6-cylinder petrol engine capable of delivering 480 hp and 680 Nm of torque. The BMW coupe can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds. The UAE's new BMW M2 Coupe price starts at AED 419,900.
