The California-special Ford Mustang first appeared in 1968 as a limited edition model for muscle car lovers. Continuing this remarkable legacy, Ford has recently introduced a new package named California Special for the new Ford Mustang car. Let’s uncover what the special offering has for the customers.
The California Special package of Ford Mustang gets cool Rave Blue details, including nostril intakes, a fresh grille with a black accent, and black borders, with some special Mustang GT California graphics in blue and black shades. The special launch also offers two 19.0-inch wheel choices, standard Carbonized Gray Wheels with the GT/CS logo in Rave Blue, the front fender’s 5.0-liter engine badge, Rave Blue outlines at the rear, and performance pack-specific badge.
Blue accents can also be found inside the cabin area of the Ford Mustang GT California Special. The car gets a Navy Pier upholstery and Ebony Black leather seats. One can notice dual-color contrast stitching with Raptor Blue and Metal Gray threads, also making their presence around the dashboard and doors. The same stitching has been provided across the steering wheel and center console. Additionally, there is a California Special IP badge and GT/CS floor mats.
There is no engine change from the GT Premium trim; the Ford Mustang GT continues to get a 5.0-liter V8 engine coupled with a 6-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmission. The engine unit churns out 480 hp of power and 570 Nm of maximum torque, accelerating 0-100 kmph in 4.7 seconds with a top speed of 240 kmph.
The California Special package costs USD 47,610 (AED 175,000) for the coupe variant, while the convertible model is priced at USD 53,110 (AED 195,000). The 10-speed automatic transmission unit on both models increases the additional cost of USD 1,595 (AED 5,900).
The automaker is accepting orders for the Ford Mustang GT California Special in the US. UAE customers can import this exclusive model from early next year.
