Lamborghini has achieved another milestone in its racing legacy by winning its first-ever victory at the prestigious 24 Hours of Spa. In partnership with Grasser Racing Team (GRT), the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 led the entire race, marking a significant achievement for the Italian luxury sports car manufacturer and regaining its reputation for performance excellence.
With this victory at the 24 Hours of Spa, Lamborghini has secured its 191st win in the GT3 era and a fitting farewell for the Huracan GT3 platform. The luxury sports car brand plans to launch the next-generation race car, Temerario GT3, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, positioning the model as the successor of the iconic Lamborghini Huracan GT3.
Driven by Mirko Bortolotti, Luca Engstler, and Jordan Pepper, the #63 GRT Lamborghini Huracan GT EVO2 delivered exceptional performance. It started from the 10th row on the grid; the team showcased resilience and precision throughout the 24 hours of the race at the 7.004 km Spa-Francorchamps circuit, Belgium.
The strategic driving efforts, in combination with efficient pit stops and exceptional management of race traffic, helped the Lamborghini trio achieve the first position in the race. The moment came to attention when Bortolotti overtook the leading Porsche, facing a puncture issue.
The Italian luxury sports car brand’s success at Spa complements a string of GT3 victories, including three consecutive class wins at the 24 Hours of Daytona (2018-2020), two wins at the 12 Hours of Sebring, and a single win at Petit Le Mans in 2023. These Spa racing victories highlight Lamborghini’s engineering excellence and performance efficiency in high-stakes endurance racing.
Even after mechanical issues in #163 VSR Lamborghini, making it out of the race, the Huracan GT3 EVO2 maintained its performance, endurance, and reliability. With this recent victory at the 24 Hours of Spa, the Huracan GT3 EVO2 era ends, turning the brand’s focus towards the future.
Lamborghini has already announced plans to launch a new Temerario GT3 in 2026, offering higher power delivery, performance, and speed. The launch of Temerario GT3 will further strengthen the brand’s position in GT3 competition worldwide.
