The Riddara RD6, produced by Riddara under the Geely Group, has debuted in the UAE with impressive features and an attractive price starting at AED 139,500, distributed by AGMC.

Available in two trims, this bold electric pickup is designed to blend urban utility with off-road capability. In this Carbike360 first drive review, we explore what sets the Riddara RD6 apart in the niche electric pickup truck segment.

The RD6 boasts an attractive design with sharp LED headlights and a sleek, closed-off grille featuring the Riddara logo. Its minimalist front end gives it a modern, clean look, typical of electric vehicles. The truck is equipped with stylish 18-inch alloy wheels, enhancing its premium appeal.
The RD6's rear features sleek LED taillights that extend across the tailgate. When opened, the tailgate reveals multiple power outlets, capable of powering camping gear and work tools, adding convenience for outdoor activities. Riddara offers the RD6 in seven vibrant colors, with three unique options that distinguish it from conventional pickup truck choices.
The dashboard features a 15.6-inch floating touchscreen that serves as the central hub for navigation, media, and climate controls. Alongside it is a 12.3-inch digital display, offering customizable views for easy access to crucial driving information.

The RD6 prioritizes comfort with soft-touch materials, brushed metal details, and premium leather seats for a refined interior. Both rows provide generous legroom, ensuring a pleasant ride. The seats also feature ventilation, perfect for the hot UAE summers.
A panoramic sunroof, available only on the top-spec 86kWh trim, adds to the cabin’s spacious feel. For added convenience, the truck includes a wireless charging pad and USB ports for seamless connectivity.
The Riddara RD6 features an advanced dual-motor electric powertrain, offering remarkable performance figures:

Although the Dubai Autodrome isn't a typical location for testing a pickup truck, the RD6 impressed. The 1.6km straight provided an ideal opportunity to test its acceleration, while the following six corners highlighted its superb handling.

To demonstrate its off-road abilities, Riddara created a custom off-road course for media testing. On steep inclines, the RD6's hill hold and descent control systems worked perfectly. The electric drivetrain maintained excellent traction during articulation tests, and even with standard road tires, the RD6 easily handled soft sand pits, showcasing its strength as an off-road pickup truck.

The RD6 offers two battery options: a 73kWh battery with a range of 424km, and an 86kWh battery with a range of 455km. Charging is efficient with DC fast-charging, which can recharge the battery from 30% to 80% in less than 32 minutes. AC charging takes approximately 11 hours, making it perfect for overnight home charging.
The Riddara RD6 is a standout in the electric pickup truck segment, offering impressive performance, advanced features, and versatility for both urban and off-road use. With its stylish design, comfortable interior, and quick charging capabilities, the RD6 proves to be a well-rounded and affordable option for those looking to switch to electric vehicles. Its off-road capabilities and practicality further make it a solid choice for adventure enthusiasts and daily drivers alike.
