Dubai’s luxury car fans are watching Beijing very closely this week as Zeekr’s twin flagships—the high‑performance 8X and tech‑luxury 9X—steal the spotlight at Auto China 2026. Their message is simple but bold: Chinese premium is no longer chasing German badges; it is coming for the top step. At Beijing’s show, the Chinese premium EV specialist used its two new flagships to signal that it no longer wants a slice of the luxury market; it wants the lead.
At Auto China 2026, Zeekr unveiled the 8X and 9X as a ‘dual‑flagship’ statement of intent, blending brutal performance, long‑range electrification, and an AI‑driven chassis platform. For UAE drivers used to German metal and fast‑growing EV infrastructure, these numbers and technologies hint very directly at what future Zeekr showrooms in Dubai could stock, sooner than many premium incumbents might expect.
Zeekr’s stand in Beijing quickly became one of the busiest corners of Auto China 2026, with queues of visitors and heavy media traffic building around the 8X and 9X centre stage. For a brand that only went global a few years ago, turning a major international show into “home turf” is a strong signal of momentum.
Alongside the cars, Zeekr used a full “Centum Technologies” showcase to walk visitors through its SEA-based architectures, hybrid powertrains, AI digital chassis systems, smart driving suites, 6C ultra‑fast charging, and Qiongjia armor safety body structure. The idea was clear: Zeekr does not just want to sell premium vehicles; it wants to own the underlying tech story as well.
For the UAE, this Beijing story is not happening in isolation. AW Rostamani Group brought Zeekr to the country in early 2024, launching the 001 shooting brake and X urban SUV at a high‑profile event in DIFC, positioning the brand firmly in the premium EV space. Within a year, Zeekr and AWR had opened flagship showrooms and dedicated service centers in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and were already celebrating over 200% sales growth in January 2025 versus December 2024.
Globally, Zeekr has already delivered more than 300,000 vehicles since 2021, establishing credibility beyond its Chinese home market and accelerating its expansion into Europe and the Middle East. For Dubai, the 8X and 9X represent the next wave of that strategy—cars that do not simply join the premium conversation but look to lead it on performance, intelligence, and fast‑charging convenience.
As AW Rostamani and Zeekr deepen their partnership under the UAE’s broader push toward sustainable mobility, it is hard to imagine the dual flagships staying China-only for long. When they do land, expect them to sit comfortably alongside the 001, X, and 7X in local showrooms, giving Dubai’s enthusiasts something genuinely new to test drive against their favorite German badges.
