Porsche has announced a global recall for all Taycan models produced since their 2020 launch due to a braking issue affecting some vehicles.
Despite the recall, Porsche assures that the Taycan can still be operated safely. Although the exact number of affected vehicles hasn't been disclosed, Porsche has sold over 150,000 units worldwide. This decision highlights Porsche's commitment to upholding the highest standards of customer satisfaction and safety.

Porsche has identified a potential issue in some Taycan models involving the front brake hose, which could develop cracks, leading to reduced braking effectiveness and brake fluid leaks. If warning lights appear, owners should take their car to a dealership immediately. A red warning light means you should stop driving and contact Porsche right away. Vehicles without warning lights can still be driven safely.
Kevin Giek, Taycan project manager, stated that the brake hoses have been redesigned to prevent future failures. The new design features improved kinematics, length, and braking points to ensure enhanced safety.

At Porsche dealerships, the automaker will offer a free, two-hour replacement of affected brake hoses, which will not affect warranties. This issue has impacted less than 1% of Taycan models worldwide, triggering a yellow warning message. Despite rigorous testing that included 5 million miles post-facelift and pre-launch without incidents, Porsche opted for a redesigned hose to address potential problems globally.
Porsche's proactive recall of all Taycan models since 2020 highlights the company's commitment to safety and customer satisfaction. Despite the issue affecting a small percentage of vehicles, Porsche is offering free brake hose replacements to ensure all owners can drive with confidence.
