Considered one of the best midsize sedan cars in the segment, the new Honda Accord is now even bigger and more spacious than its predecessors. Honda has increased the overall length of the Accord by 2.8 inches to make it almost full-size to compete more closely with the Nissan Altima, Toyota Corolla, Kia K5, and Hyundai Sonata.

The Accord has a long and successful history in UAE, and with the new updates, the carmaker aims to further extend its position and supremacy in the midsize family sedan category. The sedan still shares several features and elements from previous models, but the redesigned Accord has a refreshed exterior with a fastback roofline to deliver better ride and seamless handling.

Top Rivals: Some of the top rivals include the Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima, Hyundai Sonata, Kia K5, and Subaru Legacy.
The automaker has discontinued its 252 HP 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine, and now only a 192 HP 1.5-liter gasoline engine is offered for the Accord. Hybrid models have also been introduced, and with more enhancements like “Motion-Management System, it integrates control of the powertrain and braking system to minimize the understeer in corners.

Six trims are available for customers, including LX, EX, Sport Hybrid, EX-L Hybrid, Sport-L Hybrid, and Touring Hybrid. Like its competitors, the Honda Accord has a sedan body featuring a sloping roofline and smooth front and rear profile. Talking about current models, the car is offered in two powertrain options, including 192 HP 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo and 204 HP 2.0-liter hybrid engine option. All trims are fitted with CVT, continuously variable automatic transmission. The base models Accord LX and EX are equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that makes up 192 horsepower.

The mid and top-spec trims, Sport, EX-L, Sport-L, and Touring, are fitted with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine coupled with two electric motors to deliver the combined power output of 204 HP and peak torque of 247 pound-feet. Additionally, the base variant of Accord sprints 0-60 mph in around 7.2 seconds, which is higher than its top rivals but not by much. The Nissan Altima reaches 0-60 mph in around 7.4 seconds, and the Toyota Camry and Hyundai Sonata do this in 7.5 and 7.8 seconds. This Honda sedan can deliver 32 mpg of combined fuel economy with 29 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway.
The designers of the Honda Accord have done a great job by making it larger and sleeker than the previous models.

Because of its longer dimensions, it can easily be mistaken for an Audi A7 at first glance. A wider track and full-width taillamp are given to make its rear profile more elegant and aggressive.
The carmaker has made some subtle changes in the interior of the Accord; it's elegant, comfortable, stylish, and looks ideal for family needs. The rear seats offer enough passenger space, with around 40.8 inches of legroom.

According to the company, they have redesigned the front seats and properly shaped trunk space for holding up to 16.7 inches of cargo. The LX, EX, and Sport trims feature cloth upholstery, and all the remaining models are equipped with leather upholstery. The base variants have a 7-inch touchscreen display to access Accord’s infotainment system. The carmaker has offered a jumbo-size 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the top-spec trims.

There is Google built-in as an infotainment OS for top trims. Based on Honda, the Google built-in will integrate Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play with voice control functions. Other trims come with Honda’s standard software offered in Honda Civic and other models. The car also features Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard. The instrument cluster shows the big, bold, bright, and readable icons, making it easy to interact. The interior of the Honda Accord includes a four-speaker base audio system.
Honda Sensing active safety suite comes as standard for all Honda Accord trims. However, if you need blind spot information and rear cross-traffic alerts, you would be required to opt for EX or Sport hybrid trims. The Accord’s key safety features include automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control features.
Over the years, the Honda Accord has built its reputation in the market as a safe, reliable, and economical family sedan car. With the new and redesigned trim, the carmaker aims further to extend the comfort and capability of the vehicle. It has a sleek and updated design with a spacious interior, ensuring proper head and legroom for the passenger. The sedan has been offered in two engine options, hybrid and petrol, to ensure buyers of Accord get the desired drive experience without spending much on fuel or maintenance in the long run. If you want the best value-for-money family sedan car to buy this year, the Honda Accord can be a suitable option.
